LivePreview 1.11

A maintenance release to fix four interface issues:

  • On some older machines, the overlay would flash before appearing correctly
  • On many Mac OS X browsers, the loading image would appear mutilated
  • On the LivePreview screen, clicking on a link (such as System Overview) in the top frame would load the page only in the top frame.
  • On the LivePreview screen, the Cancel button in the top frame has been relabelled to Delete this entry to better reflect the action it triggers when clicked.

LivePreview is donationware for personal users. A 30-day evaluation period is available for commercial and enterprise users after which a corresponding license must be purchased.

I want to try and purchase the commerical version of LivePreview. However the demo zip file seems to be corrupted (size 23kb).

We handled this issue across email. The corruption must have been a momentary thing because Praveen was able to download LivePreview later.

New version aswell as old one is not prepared for other than default coding, my MT blog uses UTF-8 with polish characters and when i preview entry with LP 1.11 it changes those characters to wierd ones and destroys whole entry, then I have to correct all text again. It's very frustrating... can you please do something about it?

I installed LP 1.11 today. I created a post, previewed, scheduled and saved. I then decided to go back and edit it (extensively) and I used LP to preview it again. It looked great, but I wanted to change the post time so I selected Re-edit and the resulting MT screen was my old original of the post, not the one I had just extensively edited. All the work was lost.

I love the idea of this plugin, but can not use it until it's stable. Please let me (us) know when it is.

Hi Josh

Everytime you press LivePreview to create a preview, it saves your entry (albeit as Unpublished/Draft) so you can't have lost your changes. Are you sure you've installed LivePreview 1.11?

Seconding LukasS's comments above -- as well as an unanswered post in the suport forums. Livepreview destroys entries by mishandling UTF-8 and then saving over the original post with the new, corrupted one.

Dear Arvind,

Nevertheless your plugin is an excellent solution, i've found an odd behaviour

Trying to use this plugin with an italian language weblog, i've noticed that after clicking on preview:

1) the italian special characters displayed badly;

2) extremely wired is that the special characters even inside the posts from MT got ruined.

I had to immediately shut down the plugin.

Have you ever experienced this behaviour? Any fixes?

Kind Regards, Mihai Bocsaru
