MT Blogroll 2.02

In the past few weeks I've managed to make MT Blogroll work on a Windows/IIS environment. I have only tested this plugin on one server so I'm not entirely sure how well this works. So Download MT-Blogroll_2.02.zip and follow the installation instructions. The only difference for you Windows users is that the contents of the lib/ folder in the distribution must go into the extlib/ directory hence you get extlib/Blogroll etc.

The only requirement is that you have MT 3.16 installed as important bugs were fixed.

When you get a chance, can you explain more about how to enable dynamic updating of the blogroll? I'm not quite sure I understand your instruction about creating a .php file with the blogroll code and then calling it from the index.html template.

I loaded up version 2.02 and got a 500 error whenever I try to access the blogroll. The error on my activity log is as follows:

"Plugin error: /kunden/homepages/41/d95675168/htdocs/jamesbow/cgi-bin/plugins/Blogroll/Blogroll.pl Can't locate Blogroll/Blogroll.pm in @INC (@INC contains: plugins/Blogroll/lib plugins/Blacklist/lib ./plugins/Blacklist/lib ./lib /kunden/homepages/41/d9567"

Care to fix?

Can you please file a ticket so I can track it there. Have you checked that all files are in the necessary places, uploaded in ASCII etc. Also try re-downloading and re-uploading the distribution, perhaps something went wrong the first time. If all fails, file a bug and include any details in your server's error log too.

Am I the only one who can't download it?

Sorry, it should work now. The folder names suddenly changed overnight!

I still don't quite understand the instructions about the dynamic updating - could you please explain this again?

Am I correct in assuming that the only reason that this is restricted to MySQL is the lack of schema for other backends?

Sorry about the inappropriate place for this; I couldn't find your email address.

Well that is partly the reason, yes. Also the dynamic side, at the moment only works with MySQL. If you want to create a schema for another database, and only publish statically, by all means create one and send it to me (you can file a bug report with the information)

Thanks for the plugin. I seem to have a problem with it. When you go into the plugin from your MT, the links for Logout and Main Menu do not work, i.e. the path for them is missing a "/" which has got to have been put somewhere in the template. Could you please advise how we can get this sorted out? The rest of it seems to be working quite fine.

Thanks.

ARRRRRGHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

This is the second time I've "upgraded" from 1.x version, and there is NO UPGRADE the new version completely wipes out my old blogroll - every single entry, now I have to painstakingly re-enter every one. What a joke!!! No $10 here.
